This arrangement of Psalm 128 was published in 1524 as well, but must have been composed around January 17th that year. On that day Luther preached about John 2.1-11, the wedding in Cana. Psalm 128 was read at weddings both in Israel and later in the Church. Luther must have considered it appropriate for the Second Sunday after Epiphany. The hymn praises matrimony, which is valued in the Reformation tradition.

1- Bendito o que anda no temor e nos caminhos do Senhor.
a própria mão tu comerás e vida boa assim terás.

2- Bendito lar! Nele a mulher videira fértil há de ser.
A mesa os filhos cercarão como oliveiras em botão.

3- Tão grande bênção há de obter o homem que em temor viver.
A antiga ira, a maldição inatas logo o deixarão.

4- Deus te abençoa de Sião que para todo o sempre então
a glória de Jerusalém verás, pois Deus amor lhe tem.

5- E longa vida te dará com todo o bem te cobrirá.
Filhos dos filhos hás de ver e que Israel paz há de ter.
